So glad I got to be the Arlington Heights newborn photographer for this little lady! Baby Sofia was ten days old when she came to my newborn photo studio. Mom reached out last-minute and asked if I had an opening. She told me, “I had no idea I was supposed to book newborn photography prior to her being born–first time mom fail!”
Don’t worry–there is so much going on as a new mom, it’s totally understandable that some things might slip under the radar. If you’re expecting a little one though, booking a session with a professional newborn photographer is something you should start exploring early. Many photographers, myself included, like to schedule several weeks or months in advance. It’s pretty common practice for newborn photographers to encourage clients to book early. (While you’re still pregnant). That way, you’re sure of getting a spot. We can also get baby in nice and early, while they’re still sleepy and flexible for pictures.
However, if you’ve left it to the last minute, it never hurts to check. As it happened, I did have an opening just a few days after mom called. As you can see, we were able to get some gorgeous pictures of this beautiful baby girl!

Of course, we had to get the classic bucket shot! These are really popular for babies right now. As an Arlington Heights newborn photographer and an antiquer, I love collecting things like this to use as props in my studio!
