Would you just look at these cute Palatine newborn photos? Baby Charlotte was such a cutie. I loved her fluffy dark hair and that pouty mouth!

People sometimes ask me the ideal age for newborn photos. As a newborn photographer, my preference is to get baby into the studio within the first fourteen days of life. But sometimes baby might be a little older. This can happen with preemies who have to spend time in the NICU. It can also happen if you weren’t able to book your session before baby was born. Don’t worry. We can still have a great session even if your little one is a tad older than two weeks. Charlotte was eighteen days new when she came to see me for her Palatine newborn photos–and they turned out beautifully!

Charlotte was a great little sleeper for me and did wonderfully with posing. One of the reasons I like to get newborns in early is because they’re sleepy and flexible, so we can get all the classic poses. But if your little one is already growing up faster than you can keep up with, we can adjust and do different poses or take our time if baby is struggling to sleep. Not a problem with Charlotte though!

There are so many options when it comes to styling your Palatine newborn photos. Before your session, you’ll fill out a questionnaire to give me an idea of your color preferences. That way I can choose items from my collection that will be a good fit for you. While pink is the classic for baby girls, I loved doing something different with Charlotte. Doesn’t she look great in green?

Loved being the photographer for this sweetie. If you’re interested in a newborn session of your own, please get in touch!
