Welcome to the world, baby James! This sweet boy decided to surprise everyone by arriving 8 weeks early, just a few days after we captured his parents’ maternity session. After spending many weeks in the NICU, James was finally able to come home in December. I’m happy to report that he is doing wonderfully! He is healthy, happy, and surrounded by so much love.

Mom and Dad live in Roselle and they originally found me online when they were searching for a photographer who could provide both outdoor maternity and studio newborn pictures. I love being able to provide my families with plenty of options for their photoshoots, so they can customize the experience to suit their needs.

We captured their beautiful maternity session in October, with what we thought was plenty of time to spare before the little one would arrive on the scene. I’m so glad we managed to squeeze it in, because James was extra excited to meet everyone and was born only 6 days afterwards! (He was supposed to be a Christmas baby, but maybe Halloween is more his thing?)

As a parent, having a baby arrive way ahead of schedule can be so stressful and worrying. Just know that the absolute last thing I want you to worry about is your newborn session! I build flexibility into my schedule so these kinds of surprises can be accommodated. James was 8 weeks old when we were finally able to do his studio lifestyle newborn photoshoot. Past the typical age for newborn photos? Yes. A problem? Absolutely not! The important thing is that you and your little one are both well and thriving.

During his newborn session, James was the perfect little model—peaceful, strong, and so incredibly precious. Capturing this beautiful chapter for his family was an absolute honor.

Are you expecting this year? Congratulations! I would absolutely love to document your pregnancy and/or that precious newborn stage. Please get in touch and let’s design the perfect session for you.
