It was such a pleasure to work with this sweet family during a studio lifestyle session for their new baby daughter Clara. Mom was referred to me by a friend whom I worked with for many years and photographed her three kiddos. They live in Itasca, Illinois, so only about 20 minutes from my studio in Long Grove.
Newborn Lifestyle Session in Studio
I offer several different options for newborn photos, depending on the style you like best. This family decided that a lifestyle setup in the studio was perfect for them! For this type of photoshoot, I set up my studio to look like a cozy bedroom, usually with lots of throw cushions and pretty rugs or blankets. For this session I also used long flowing curtains to soften the edges of our photos, and some plants to make it feel even more homey.
Everything You Need
Of course, we can always add a few props to a lifestyle studio newborn session! I love antiquing and have so many beautiful baskets, bassinets, buckets, and more that can be used to add some extra cuteness to those baby-only shots. And let’s not forget the lovies!
For parent and baby pictures, I like to keep things simple with sweet, natural poses that highlight all the love between family members. (I have everything you need for baby, so don’t worry about outfits. And I also have a collection of lovely dresses for moms. You are welcome to use my client closet if you don’t have an outfit of your own!)
