As a mom and a photographer, I know that every moment of your child’s growing up is precious and fleeting. Which is why I absolutely love doing studio milestone sessions, so that we can capture all the important milestones as your baby grows!
Alessi’s mom knew she wanted more than just newborn pictures. And she’d been keeping an eye out for a Mount Prospect baby photographer for some time. When she reached out she told me that she’d been following me on Instagram for a while and loved what she saw. So when Alessi was at that super fun, not-quite-toddler stage, Mom knew exactly who to reach out to for a special sitter session!
Chicago Area Sitter Sessions
For my sitter sessions, I like to create a unique setup that provides the perfect backdrop for our photos. In Alessi’s case, we decided we wanted to create the vibe of an idyllic nursery. I have a lovely little area in my studio that I can curtain off to provide a cozy backdrop while still letting in lots of natural light. For Alessi’s sitter session, we piled this area high with all kinds of pillows and blankets in neutral colors for a light, hygge kind of feel.
I brought in a couple of props, like my wicker basket on wheels, star mobile, and old-fashioned crib to round out our sitter session and give us some variety in our shots and poses. If you know me, you know that I love to go antique hunting in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. I love the thrill of finding beautiful objects that I can use as props in my work. There’s just something so fun about seeing these antique objects next to sweet little ones who are just starting on life’s journey. I love the combination of history and history-in-the-making!
