As a Palatine newborn photographer, I love seeing sweet babies like these in my studio! This little man was such a cutie.
Blue may be the most popular option for baby boys, but I love to mix things up and do something different. We went with green as our main color, combining it with brown and just a splash of blue for a very earth-toned approach. I love the way it turned out! In keeping with our earth tones, I also used greenery and very natural-looking textures and fibers to tie everything together.
At three weeks, baby Leo was a little bit older than most newborns I photograph, so it was extra impressive that he did such a great job for me. Babies get more active and less sleepy as they grow, which is one reason I like to get little ones in before they turn two weeks old. While that’s the ideal, you can see that it’s still possible to get beautiful newborn pictures outside of that timeframe. Sometimes we just have to be a bit more flexible, accept that there are some poses we may not be able to get, and let baby lead the way.

Of course, teddy bears make the perfect prop for just about any newborn photo session! I have some super cute teddies that are just the right size for new babies to snuggle with.
