It has been such a beautiful fall here in Chicago and I have been busier than I ever expected! It’s an absolute honor and I have been loving every moment with my clients. Outdoor sunset sessions are more popular than ever and I have had a steady stream of families and moms-to-be, not to mention all the cute newborns in the studio! This Lake Michigan sunset maternity session is just one of the many highlights this season has brought.
This wonderful couple was referred to me by my husband (they are business clients of his) so it was so fun to meet them! They are lovely people and I’m excited to reconnect with them when their little one arrives, since I’m going to be their newborn photographer as well. Can’t wait to meet baby!
After looking at the many outdoor options in and around the Chicago area we decided to do this session on the shores of Lake Michigan. This is one of my favorite places for sunset maternity sessions since it really does provide a little bit of everything. Sandy shores and glistening water give it almost a beach vibe, but there are also surrounding fields, trees, and paths for an entirely different look—all in one location!
Mom chose her outfits from my client closet. These particular gowns are from Reclamation, Joyfolie, and Sew Trendy. Investing in a studio wardrobe is a decision I’m so glad I made! It makes it so much easier and less stressful for moms not to have to worry about what to wear, and to have a variety of styles to help them feel beautiful on the day of their session.
I’m so happy with the way this Lake Michigan sunset maternity session turned out and so very excited to meet the little one soon!
