Recently, I photographed this eleven day old newborn baby girl. Now, as a photographer offering Kildeer newborn photos, I can only hope that my babies that I photograph are this perfect! Fortunately, my clients are the best, and I always get to photograph perfect babies!
To begin, we started with this white lacey set up. Here, I am in love with the floral crown and the lace wrap and blanket. Then, we moved to a wood basket, with a little touch of yellow. Now, don’t worry about bringing anything to your newborn session. At the studio, I have everything you would need. Now, all the wraps, headbands, hats, baskets, blankets, swaddles that you see are at the studio to use at your newborn session. Here, we went with some tan and neutral tones for this comfy egg wrap pose. Fortunately, this little baby girl was so sleepy at her session, and easy to pose. Now, don’t worry about your baby cooperating. Luckily, I will have some pointers to do before your session, to help keep baby sleeping and peaceful at the session. Then, we moved to the wood newborn bed set up. Now, offering Kildeer newborn photos, I love introducing new props and set ups, so each newborn session is unique. Here, this bed set up is a newer prop at the newborn studio. To finish, we ended with a simple white and neutral little snuggle time! His personality is really starting to shine through, and I loved seeing him again and capturing these special moments 🫶
What makes sessions like this even more special is when families continue to trust me with their memories year after year. I’ve photographed Cooper since he was a newborn and have also photographed his older brothers through the years. Despite living over an hour away, they continue to make the trip for their sessions, and I am so grateful for their support.
I look forward to capturing many more milestones for this wonderful family in the years ahead 🤍
These sweet images take me back to where my newborn photography journey began over 14 years ago.
When I first started, posed newborn photography was the style. Every image was carefully planned and thoughtfully created, requiring extensive training, hands-on workshops, and a deep understanding of newborn safety, comfort, and posing techniques. Creating those timeless curled-up poses wasn’t just about taking a photo, it was about learning an art form while always putting baby’s well-being first.
Over the years, newborn photography has evolved. Today, many families are drawn to a more natural, baby-led approach that focuses on genuine connection, movement, and simple moments. I absolutely love incorporating those elements into my sessions as well.
What makes my approach unique is that I continue to offer my signature posed newborn style while blending it with more natural, baby-led moments. This allows me to create a gallery filled with both beautifully crafted portraits and authentic images that reflect your baby’s personality.
While trends may change, there will always be something special about those classic newborn portraits—the ones that highlight just how tiny, precious, and brand new your little one is.
Which style do you love most: timeless posed portraits, natural baby-led moments, or a combination of both?
