As you know, I have some of the most beautiful people as clients! Gosh, I am so lucky! Here, you will see this beautiful family I was lucky to photograph in the summer. This family is one of my repeat clients, which is the biggest honor! Fortunately, I have been photographing this family for years. And, I even photographed their daughter as a newborn. Here, this gorgeous family, and their beloved family dog, gathered for a family photo shoot along the shores of Lake Michigan. Now, Mom and Dad are so proud of their beautiful three children, as they should be! And, the family dog is happy, as well!
First, I love capturing Mom and her babies. Moms don’t always get in front of the camera, as they are usually the ones taking the photos. Second, since I have known this family for a number of years, I love capturing mom with her kids, so we can watch them grow up through the years. Third, their heights during this summer make for a perfect photo triangle!
Of course, this photo was one of Mom and Dad’s favorites from the photo shoot! And, I love how Mom had the brothers matching, with little sister and her pop of color!
Here, I like to capture each child in a family session individually. Truthfully, I like to give them a moment to be alone and then I grab those adorable smiles. In this photo, the middle child finds a super cool rock to sit on. Great idea, bud!
My goodness, this is just too cute. The water was a little chilly, but she loved it! I love how her sweet, little hands are clasped together, innocently.
Fortunately, this location lends to lots of areas for photos. And, I wanted each sibling to have their own area for their individual photo. Here, we found a really cool, rocky area for big brother’s photos.
Of course, we had to get a photo of Dad and his kids! I love how they’re snuggled so close to him, and hugging him!
Now, I am not sure what I love more. Is is the fact that they’re all ankle deep in the water? Or, is it the fact that they seem so excited. Maybe, it’s because it’s a raw moment. Or, because they are the cutest family, and make things so real, honest and adorable at this photo shoot!
Now, we can’t forget about Mom’s 4th “baby,” can we? Truthfully, the puppy’s smile makes everything amazing in this photo!
Of course, we had to get some shots of mom and dad together at this beach session! Honestly, they are such a stunning couple, and as beautiful as they are nice!
And, everyone needed their own photos, even the pup!
To end, with the perfect sunset, and kids feet in the water. At this point, everyone can get wet, and we don’t care! Honestly, when I am shooting beach sessions, I try to get toes in the water, but not much more until the end of the session. Because, we would hate to have wet clothes and hair for that one kiddo that gets out of hand in the water! And, as parents, we all know this would really happen!

This sweet family found me through friends who had just done their newborn session with me, and after seeing their images, they fell in love with my work. They were really hoping to get on my schedule, but had one big concern… their baby was already a little older than the typical “newborn window,” and they weren’t sure if we’d still be able to achieve those soft, classic newborn poses.
I reassured them—and their little one proved us all right 💛 He was absolutely perfect… so calm, so cozy, and slept beautifully throughout the session. We were able to capture all those timeless, gently posed images they were dreaming of.
They chose my Classic Collection with pops of beautiful color, and I just loved every bit of it. This style is very reminiscent of traditional newborn photography—soft, intentional posing paired with delicate, rich tones that truly highlight baby in the most timeless way.
