Isn’t this sweet baby girl just adorable? Little Annalee was 14 days new when her parents brought her to see me in my photography studio in Chicagoland. Mom actually reached out after Annalee was born. She came across my work on Instagram and loved it and was really hoping I had some last-minute openings. Luckily, I did, so I was able to be the Chicagoland newborn photographer for this darling.
When to Schedule Your Newborn Photo Session
Although it worked for this mom and her sweet baby girl (I happened to have a spot available and was able to squeeze them in) I don’t always have last-minute availability. In fact, my calendar usually books up very quickly. For this reason, I recommend booking several months in advance. The earlier, the better! The last thing you want to be doing after baby arrives is searching for a Chicagoland newborn photographer.
However, even if you’ve left it later than you should, you can still reach out and ask. I never pass up a chance to welcome a new baby to my studio, so if there’s any way to get you in I’m happy to make that happen.
If I don’t have openings, I may also be able to recommend other newborn photographers in the Chicago area that you can check with. But finding a photographer isn’t only a matter of location. Once you find someone who’s style is perfect for you, that’s who you want to go with! So I highly recommend scheduling early with your photographer of choice. That way you’re guaranteed a spot. Most newborn photographers, like myself, have a measure of flexibility built in, so if baby arrives a little late or early there is room to accommodate.
I’m so glad I had an opening for Miss Annalee and her parents! She was a sweetheart and we created so many lovely images that will be a treasure for and her family.
