I can’t decide which I like best: Mom-only maternity sessions, a couples maternity photoshoot, or maternity photos with family. My favorite seems to be whichever one I’m doing at the time! In any case, I loved shooting this Chicago sunset maternity session with family recently.
Chicago Maternity and Newborn Photographer
I am always curious to learn how clients found me. This mom googled “maternity photographer near me” and I came up as one of the photographers in the Chicago area. She explored my site and social media and decided she loved my work! In fact, she booked me for both her maternity and newborn sessions. Booking the same photographer for pregnancy and baby pictures is actually something I highly recommend. I feel that it keeps your photos more cohesive. They simply work better together, either in an album or in beautiful pictures on your wall, if they have the same overall style. And the best way to achieve that is by working with just one photographer that you truly love!

Mom, Dad, and big brother were all able to join in this beautiful Chicago sunset maternity session with family. They are such a lovely family! Big brother is two years old and such a cute little boy. I am excited to meet baby for a newborn session very soon!
Outfits and the Great Outdoors
With outdoor sessions we usually do fewer outfit changes than we would in the studio, so we just chose a couple of dresses for Mom. She selected a white dress and floral crown from my client closet, and then brought a maternity gown of her own to pair with one of the hats from my studio. I love how well the dresses worked together in photos, while still providing us with two completely different styles.
