Had so much fun doing this Chicago milestone baby photography session! Jair was absolutely adorable, and it was wonderful to see him back in the studio. I did his mom’s maternity pictures and also photographed this little man as a newborn. Hard to believe he’s already old enough for a sitter session!
Sitter sessions like these are always super fun–especially when it’s for a little one I photographed as an infant. Love seeing these cuties grow up!
Unlike newborn sessions, which usually take place before baby is fourteen days old, milestone baby photography has a lot more wiggle room in the timeframe. For most babies, they’ll start being able to sit up independently somewhere around six to nine months. And during this time, a lot of parents also start to see their little one’s personality really blossom. As a Chicago baby photographer, this is one of the things I love about milestone sessions. It’s so fun to interact with these guys! Also at this age, “stranger danger” hasn’t quite kicked in yet, so it’s easy for babies to feel relaxed and have fun in the studio right from the start.
Fun toys like this double as great props and also a way to keep little hands occupied. Babies at this age love to explore and find out more about the world around them–usually by touching things or putting them in their mouths! 🙂 No worries–I make sure everything is safe and sanitary!
Another fun thing I’ll sometimes do during a Chicago milestone baby photography session is to pull out some newborn props. This tiny bed is just the right size for a newborn to curl up in–and it makes a great seat for older babies during their sitter session.
