Maternity and newborn sessions may make up the majority of my day-to-day work here at the studio, but did you know that I also offer Chicago cake smash photography sessions? I love celebrating milestones with my families, and there are so many ways to do it.
This family decided they wanted a cake smash to celebrate their little one’s first birthday. This is always such a fun way to go! I love seeing how different kiddos react. Some of them are a little intimidated by the cake at first and need some encouragement to start exploring it. Others dive in face first!
What to Expect from a Cake Smash Session
I try to keep all my sessions as relaxing and hassle-free as possible for busy families. With my Chicago cake smash photography sessions, all parents have to provide is the cake and I will take care of the rest! (This is mostly because of allergies and dietary restrictions. The safety of my clients always comes first, so I think it’s best to leave the cake up to the parents, who know their baby best.)
I also try to include some portraits during your session—before things get too sticky! And I have a variety of backdrops and setup choices so that we can create a cake smash that fits your style. For this little cutie, we went with a very simple, white setup with plenty of balloons and just a touch of greenery.
