So happy I was able to do these Buffalo Grove baby pictures for sweet Blake! Mom was referred to me by a local photographer. She loved my style and also loved that I was nice and close. My studio in Long Grove is just minutes away from where she lives, so it worked out perfectly! This was a last-minute booking, but I happened to have an opening in my schedule, so we were able to get Blake in while she was still tiny.
One of the questions I’m often asked is when is the ideal time to have a newborn session? I always recommend booking as far in advance as possible. When you book I’ll take down your due date—but I’m well aware that that date might change. Babies come when they want to come! Scheduling ensures you a place on my schedule, even if we have to move it around a little bit.
Ideally, I like to get babies into the studio within two weeks after they’re born. However, I realize that sometimes this isn’t feasible. Maybe, like Blake’s mom, time got away from you, baby is already here, and you need to find a photographer last-minute. Or sometimes birth complications can make it necessary for baby to stay in the NICU beyond that two-week mark.
There are lots of reasons why you might not be able to bring baby in for their photography session exactly when you want to. If this happens, I encourage you to reach out anyway! If at all possible, I will fit you into my schedule. And if I don’t have space, I can recommend other photographers to try, or we can simply push the date back if I have an opening a little later. Blake was 22 days new at the time of our session, and as you can see, we captured some absolutely gorgeous newborn images!
