Fall is the most popular time for family sessions—and with good reason! The fall colors are absolutely gorgeous, and also work perfectly with my style. I definitely gravitate towards the warm earth tones of the autumn season, and I always love incorporating those colors into my sessions. Especially this beautiful sunset family photography session that I did recently for Lacey and her family!
Lacy is my photographer bestie. I met her years ago through a local photography group and we have been friends ever since. It’s been such a blessing to be able to support each other and our businesses. Photography can be a lonely and very competitive profession, so it’s wonderful to have a friend in the industry!
And of course, knowing a professional photographer means you never have far to look when you need updated family photos! It’s always a pleasure to have Lacey’s family in front of my lens. They are so fun and sweet and we always have a great time together.
We chose one of my favorite spots in the northwest Chicago suburbs for this beautiful sunset family photography session. It is very popular with my clients and makes such a perfect backdrop with a nice variety of scenic settings.
Lacey decided to choose a dress from my client closet to make this session even prettier. I love Reclamation dresses—they have such lovely styles and colors. Since styling family sessions can be tricky (so many outfits to keep track of!) I usually recommend deciding on mom’s outfit first and then choosing everyone else’s clothes based on that. Lacey’s choice of gown set the tone and made it easy for her to find outfits for her children that all went perfectly together.
I’m so happy I was able to capture these gorgeous family portraits for Lacey—and I would love to do the same for you! I’m currently booking sessions for 2025, so please reach out soon to reserve a place on my calendar.
