I know you are going to love this little hunk of handsome just as much as I do! He did such a wonderful job during his Park Ridge newborn photography session.
Finding a Newborn Photographer
Samuel’s mom found me through word of mouth, which was fun! Many of my new families find me when they Google “newborn photographer near me” or stumble across my work on Instagram. But Samuel’s mom and I got connected after I asked for recommendations through the Park Ridge Virtual Chatter group on Facebook.
I love all the many ways there are now to connect with families. If you’re looking for a newborn photographer, I always recommend using all your resources. Google it, give yourself an excuse to just scroll through social media for a while, and of course, talk to other moms in your area!
What if I Have an Older Newborn?
Samuel was 20 days new when he came to see me at my Long Grove newborn studio. People often hear that newborn photos have to be done within the first two weeks of life, but it’s always worth checking to see what your photographer’s policy is.
The first-two-weeks recommendation is a good one, because at that early stage, babies tend to be very sleepy and flexible, so it’s perfect for posing them in a studio environment. Later, things like baby acne can crop up too, so your photos might require more editing if you get baby in when they’re three or four weeks old.
Personally, I consider the two-week rule a great rule of thumb, but I am always happy to photograph older babies too! As you can see with Samuel, it usually works out great!
