Recently, I photographed this adorable, 12 day old newborn little guy! Now, I photograph newborns 14 days or newer at my newborn photo sessions. And, all props, headbands, hats, wraps and blankets you see featured here and on social media are all available to use at your photo shoot. Now, as a Hawthorn Woods newborn photographer, I love offering my variety of items and colors to choose from at your newborn photo session. And, I also have several gowns to use, if you choose to get maternity photos done, before baby comes! To start, we captured the froggy pose! Now, this is a very popular pose, and isn’t the easiest to capture! But, this guy cooperated for me!Then, since this perfect little newborn was sound asleep, we moved to the bean bag for some egg wrap poses.Next, we moved to the ever popular bucket pose! Now, depending on each newborn, and how they cooperate, depends on how many different poses we get. Typically, I can get babies to sleep, and get lots of poses for you to choose from! A sweet, simple cake smash to celebrate this beautiful first birthday milestone
My cake smash sessions always include one simple setup and one outfit. Mom wanted something soft and dreamy for Sena, so we kept it classic with white curtains and balloons.
Before we bring out the cake, I always like to take a few simple portraits to capture your little one just as they are at this special milestone. Then comes the fun part—the cake! Some babies dive right in, some prefer to play with it, and some aren’t quite sure what to think. And honestly, it’s all part of the fun.
A bubble bath can also be added for an additional fee, and it’s such a fun way to finish the session!

I wanted to share a little personal update since some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit slower than usual lately.
I’ve been dealing with a health issue affecting my nerves over the past several weeks. It’s caused quite a bit of pain and has left me more tired than usual. I’m medically cleared to continue working, but I’m still not feeling 100%.
If I seem a little tired or if I take a little longer to respond to an email or get a proof gallery back to you, I just wanted you to know there’s a reason. As a one-woman business, I’m the person behind everything — from your emails and sessions to editing and delivering your galleries. I’m still working away behind the scenes and giving every session and gallery the same care and attention I always do; I may just need a little extra time right now.
I’m working from home today and will be catching up on emails and sending out several proof galleries throughout the day. 🤍
Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and kindness while I get back to feeling like myself. It truly means a lot 🫶
And now for some happier news…
Hello Fall Minis are returning! The vintage truck is coming back, sessions will be held at a farm in Crystal Lake on Saturday, October 3rd. The booking link has been open for a couple of days now, and some of you have already grabbed your spot! There are still four spots available.
Santa is returning! Santa sessions will be held on Sunday, November 15th and Sunday, November 29th. The booking link isn’t live just yet, but I already have a long VIP list. If you’d like to be notified before the link goes public, send me a message and I’ll add you to the list.
More fall minis? Depending on how I’m feeling throughout September, I may add another date for regular fall minis in October. I’ll keep you posted!
And lastly, I just want to say how much I appreciate each and every one of you. Some of you have been with me from the very beginning, and so many of you have continued to come back year after year and trust me with your most important memories.
