Recently, I photographed sweet baby Zachary for his 6 month photo session. As a Chicagoland family photographer, I do love a sitter session! Especially when the sitter is as adorable as Zachary is! Photographers love seeing their newborns, and watching them grow up! At a sitter session, babies show off their skills, sitting up strong, before they get to that one year cake smash session.
Check out this sweet sitter session!
Here, we started with the cream backdrop
Here, Zachary is so proud showing off his big boy skill of sitting up on his own! And, I absolutely love the adorable outfit Mom picked out for him! I love a baby in suspenders!
Now, we also like to take shots of babies on their tummies for tummy time at a sitter session. Because, this strength in their neck is a new thing for Baby to be proud of! It’s all about showing off baby’s new skills!
As a Chicagoland family photographer, I like to give my clients the option of color and black and white with their images. That way, they can print and display what they like best in their home. Here, I love the outfit Zachary borrowed from my studio to hear, on the soft flokati, for a footsie photo.
I always choose a favorite image from each of my photo shoots. I think this is my favorite! Typically, I use this little bed for newborn sessions. Here, although Zachary is a little baby, not even 1 year old yet, he still looks so big in this tiny crib.
Then, we moved to the wood floor and wall
Now, if you follow my blog, you know I mention this a lot…I love textures! Here, sweet boy is on the wood floor, with some burlap! And, in a cozy little sweater! I love the texture combinations!
And, we had to get one of him with the textures and on his tummy. Sometimes, for a sitter session, babies don’t love being on their tummies. Luckily, Zachary didn’t mind some tummy time!
Oh my goodness, this black and white photo is my favorite black and white photo of the session! Here, I put on this fuzzy teddy bear ear hat, and had him sit in the box. He’s so adorable, and with that little expression on his face! I hope Mom and Dad frame this one!
Again, we used one of my small newborn cribs, and had Zachary sit in the crib. I am loving all the colors of this set up, and love the lip biting face!
And, we had to get some photos of Zachary eating his toes!
To end, we captured one more tummy time photo, as Zachary was so comfortable on the fuzzy blanket!

Sweet baby Sophia 🤍 Just 8 days new at the time of her session and already so incredibly loved
This session was extra special for me, getting to photograph this family again after capturing big sister when she was a newborn made my heart so full. Watching her step into her new role and love on her baby sister so tenderly was truly the sweetest thing.
These are the moments that mean the most to me, watching families grow and being invited back to document each new chapter. Thank you for trusting me with your memories, again and again 🫶
It’s been a little quiet on here, but I promise I’m still very much here. working behind the scenes around the clock. This season turned out to be busier than I could have imagined, and it put me behind in a way I’ve never experienced before. Because of that, I wasn’t able to share sneak peeks and previews like I normally do, but please know I’ve been working nonstop to get everyone’s galleries finished.
All holiday sessions should be delivered by this weekend. If you haven’t received yours yet, please reach out and I’ll make sure your link is forwarded right away.
I also wanted to share a little update for next year: I am very much gearing up to focus primarily on studio sessions, and will be extremely limiting my outdoor availability. If you know you’d like to work with me outdoors, please make sure to reach out and grab a spot early. I know I’ve mentioned this shift over the past few years, but this coming year I am truly serious about stepping away from outdoor work and only taking on a very small number of those sessions.
I will have a New Year’s Sale specifically for outdoor sessions, but those spots will be extremely limited. If you want one, keep an eye out because they’ll go fast.
I may also consider bringing on an associate photographer to handle some outdoor sessions for me, but that’s still something I’m deciding on.
I still have lots of newborn, studio maternity and milestone sessions I’m editing from the past couple of weeks, and I hope to share sneak peeks of those very soon.
And if you’ve emailed me and haven’t heard back yet, I sincerely apologize. My inbox has been overflowing, and I’m doing my very best to reply to everyone. You’re always welcome to follow up, your message truly matters to me, and I’ll make sure to get back to you.
Thank you, truly, for all your support. It means the world to me 🫶
