This was such a special Chicagoland baby photo session. Sweet Ava was born right before the mandatory business shutdown took effect in March. This meant that mom wasn’t able to bring her in for professional newborn pictures as planned. COVID has disrupted life in so many ways! While I completely understand the safety reasons behind the shutdown it still makes me sad that this little one–and many like her–weren’t able to have newborn pictures done for health reasons. However, I’m so glad that I was able to record Ava’s big one-year milestone just a couple of weeks ago!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since all of this pandemic craziness started. I feel like we’re only now beginning to get back to normal. I’ve loved having my Long Grove, Illinois photography studio back open again! Even with all of the changes and adjustments, I feel like little ones like Ava help us to stay grounded and remember what’s really important. The things that are truly important are the constants in our lives. Some things never change–like the sweet innocence of kiddos, or the joy I feel in recording these memories for them and their families.
This little cutie was a bit shy at first, but eventually she started to warm up. She even gave me some amazing smiles–which I loved! What a doll.
Ava was so adorable, and I’m so glad she warmed up and felt comfortable while we did her Chicagoland baby pictures.
Mom really wanted to keep things nice and simple, so we did very little in the way of props. We also kept our colors neutral, with just some splashes of yellow and pink. I love the clean, minimalist look of our finished photos.
What a great experience to work with this sweet little birthday girl. Keep smiling, Ava!
