It seems crazy to be writing this when spring isn’t even officially here yet (although we can all feel that it’s just around the corner) but it’s already time to schedule your fall family photo session for 2025!
As the summer heat fades and the crisp autumn air settles in, it’s the perfect time to capture your family in the beauty of fall. The golden hues, vibrant leaves, and soft, glowing sunsets create the most stunning backdrop for your photos. (And of course I’m continuing to hold maternity and newborn sessions in the fall too. There are so many beautiful locations for a family photoshoot in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs. You just have to know where to look! Fortunately, as a Chicago photographer I’ve already done a lot of exploring and scouted out some of the best places for outdoor sessions. It’s always such a delight to reconnect with families over the autumn months. I love capturing the beauty of these relationships as well as the beauty we’re so blessed to enjoy in this corner of the world. Sunset sessions are my absolute favorite towards the end of the year! You never know exactly what the sky will bring, but you can be sure it will add the perfect touch of color or drama.
I also love the warm fall colors that come with the changing leaves. Trees make such a pretty backdrop for fall photos, but so do rustic buildings, sun-kissed water, and golden fields.
