I usually save my questions for Facebook or Instagram, but this one is important enough that I think it deserves a blog post! Here it is: When you’re searching for a newborn photographer, what matters most to you?
The truth is, not everyone will agree on what the best newborn photography looks like, because we all have different style preferences. Not everyone will agree what newborn photography in Chicago should cost, because there are so many variables and budgets. And not everyone places the same importance on things like props, outfits, and a conveniently located studio.
But I think we can all agree on one thing, and in my opinion this is the most crucial factor in ensuring a great newborn photoshoot: A newborn photographer should be experienced! Exploring the web or your favorite social media platforms is a great way to start looking, but never be afraid to ask questions to make sure that the photographer you decide on knows exactly what they’re doing and will keep your baby safe and comfortable.
Isla’s mom already knew and felt comfortable with me, because I did her maternity photos. But is your maternity photographer always the right person to be your newborn photographer as well? That all depends on their experience! I specialize in maternity, newborn and baby photography, and have more than a decade of experience with photographing little ones. Isla’s mother knew her little one was in good hands with me!
