Please help me welcome sweet baby Alfred to the world! This precious, perfect boy came to my Chicagoland area studio for a newborn session before our world changed with the Covid19 virus. Alfred’s mom searched baby photographer near me on Google, and I am so glad she did! Alfred was a dream baby! His beautiful, baby, squishiness was SO fun to photograph!
So, when Alfred arrived at the studio, he was awake. Typically, I have Mom’s come to the studio and feed Baby, so that they are sound asleep for their session. After Alfred ate, he was sound asleep, and stayed asleep the entire session. Normally, parents want Baby to sleep, so that it’s easier for me to photograph, and easier for them to relax. I like to remind my parents that I have light snacks and coffee in my quaint Long Grove studio, for their pleasure. When booking a simple newborn session, Mom and Dad can relax, and even take a nap, during the session! I love when I get to see Moms and Dads, like Alfred’s, who trust in me to photograph their baby with the utmost care, while they can sit back and relax for a bit!
Oh my goodness! I LOVE this photo of Alfred! He is just so perfect! Before a session with me, I ask parents to fill out a questionnaire. This allows me to get to know my clients and their style a little before they arrive at the studio. Capturing memories is my goal. But, I also want parents to display these photos in their home. Therefore, I ask what colors my clients like and don’t like, to make sure I am meeting their needs at their session.
Like I mentioned, Alfred’s mom did a Google search for baby photographer near me, and she found me! I hope she’s as happy as I am that she found me! Alfred is a dream baby, especially in this heart shaped bowl! He simply looks like an angel here, and he was! Mom just loved the little stuffed bear, as well. I have several of these little “stuffies” as I like to call them, available at any newborn session!
Sometimes, babies don’t love this pose. Once they’re in the pose, they are ok. But, most times, this isn’t their favorite position to get into. Alfred transitioned so easy to this pose! He really didn’t mind any of the poses we did with him, so I kept changing them up. I always tell my Moms and Dads that Baby runs the show! If Baby isn’t enjoying the transitions, we stop. We take breaks when needed. Baby calls the shots! I don’t want Baby upset, so we work with what we have!
Again, this pose, because Alfred was such a good baby! I love his skin tones and hair color with the wood floor! And the rustic touches Mom loved, too! When people search Baby Photographer Near Me, I hope they see that I love rustic touches, textures, and images that will hold a special place in their hearts for a lifetime!
Mom had asked for some blues, and these blue tones worked great! I love adding textures into my photos.
I am just in love with this pose, the colors, sweet Alfred’s perfect little cheeks and his head resting on his hands!
Little baby toes are a favorite! Mom was in love with his little toes, so I had to capture this for her! This was the end of our session, a picture perfect ending to a great newborn photo shoot!

She didn’t give me big smiles… and it was PERFECT.
One-year milestone sessions aren’t about forcing giggles — they’re about capturing your baby exactly as they are in this sweet season.
I recently photographed a beautiful baby girl turning ONE. She was a little shy, a little observant, and took her time warming up… and you know what? We captured her personality so beautifully. The curious looks. The quiet expressions. The little glances at mama. That’s what makes these sessions so special 🤍
If you’re planning a first birthday milestone session with me, here are a few tips to help everything go smoothly:
• Schedule around naps. The happiest babies are well-rested babies. Avoid nap time and aim for when your little one is usually fed, happy, and refreshed.
• Bring a favorite comfort item. A small toy or lovey can help them feel secure. I also recommend bringing a favorite snack — sometimes a tiny bribe works magic 😉
• Don’t stress about outfits or styling. I provide everything — curated outfits, headbands, props, and beautiful setups. You truly don’t need to worry about a thing. Just show up and let me take care of the rest.
•We’ll plan ahead. Before your session, we’ll chat about the look you’re hoping to achieve — soft and neutral, floral and whimsical, simple and timeless. I want your baby’s milestone to reflect your vision while keeping my clean, classic aesthetic.
And most importantly… come with realistic expectations. Not every one-year-old smiles on command — and that’s okay. Some of the most meaningful images come from the in-between moments 🤍
If your little one is approaching their first birthday, now is the time to get on my calendar. One-year milestone sessions are some of my absolute favorites.
Drop a 🎂 in the comments if your baby is turning ONE soon, or send me a message to start planning your session.
This is why I recommend newborn sessions before 14 days 🤍
Theo was just 11 days old and absolutely perfect for posing.
Capturing these first days of life is always such an honor, and every newborn session is thoughtfully styled to feel timeless, soft, and beautifully connected.
One of the things my clients love most is that every session is customized. Whether you’re dreaming of an all-natural look with creamy neutrals, ivories, and soft organic tones, or you’d love a little more color and personality woven into your gallery, I offer a variety of aesthetics to match your vision while keeping everything elegant and refined.
My newborn sessions are designed to be relaxed, baby-led, and stress-free — creating heirloom images you’ll cherish long after these tiny details are gone.

We celebrated baby Emilia’s first birthday with the sweetest cake smash at my studio 🤍
This setup was intentionally simple — all white, flooded with soft, angelic light. No distractions, no props competing for attention — just a clean, timeless backdrop that allowed Emilia to be the entire focus.
And once that cake was placed in front of her… she was all in. The smiles, the curiosity, the messy little fingers — she truly loved every second of it.
If your little one is approaching a first birthday or another milestone, let’s create something beautiful, classic, and forever timeless. Reach out to reserve your date — I’d love to design a session just for you.
