Is it just because it’s December that I think baby Emilia looks like a sweet little sugarplum fairy? I don’t know, but I think we can all agree, she’s adorable!
Mom found me on Instagram when she was searching for a newborn and family photographer in Chicago. My studio is located in Long Grove, a historic village in the Northwest suburbs, and this family lives on the south side of the Chicago area, which meant that they had over an hour’s drive to bring baby girl to see me. As any parent knows, driving with a tiny new infant can feel intimidating the first few times you do it. I was so flattered that Emilia’s family was willing to make the drive. They knew I could give them exactly the kind of baby pictures they were looking for, and once you find the right photographer, distance doesn’t matter so much!
We included some family portraits in this baby girl’s session. Some families like to include images with parents and/or siblings, while others want to focus exclusively on their newborn. Both are wonderful options; it really just depends on your vision. Personally, I love capturing those brand-new relationships just as much as I love recording all the tiny details of a new baby. Whatever would help you to remember this time and look back on it with sweet memories are the kinds of photos we’ll create!
