When clients will drive two hours to meet me for a session, I know I’m doing something right!
This gorgeous mom-to-be found me on Google when she was searching for maternity photographers. She decided to focus her search in Chicago as she knew she was likely to find more options in and around a big city, and when she saw my portfolio she fell in love. I’m so happy she found me!
Maternity Photos on the Lake
We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather to do an outdoor maternity session. I have a couple of favorite locations for outdoor photoshoots, and this is definitely one of my favorites! Especially for maternity sessions. I feel like with the lake, the dock, and the trees it really provides a bit of everything.
We even timed it when the flowers were in bloom, which added such a lovely element to our photos!
Stunning Studio Gowns
Once we had chosen a beautiful location, we also had to pick some outfits. Over the years I have put together a client closet of maternity gowns in a variety of styles and colors. I find this makes it much easier for my clients and makes for a more enjoyable experience when they don’t have to stress about what to wear.
Mom picked out several dresses from my collection, which gave us such a nice mix of neutrals and colors. She looked so pretty in every single one. This is one reason my sessions are long enough to accommodate outfit changes. It’s just too hard to choose a favorite!
Golden Hour
And, of course, we timed our session for sunset so that we could enjoy the full magic of golden hour! With a combination like that, it’s no surprise that this session was absolutely beautiful!
